Amazon inspirações

The first website I would like to highlight is "Rainforest Native", an online retailer founded in 2002, devoted to Amazon conservation (donating 100% of their proceeds!).

They sell fair trade luxurious beaded jewelry handmade by the indigenous people of the Amazon from all natural materials like açaí seeds.

Now it you're anything like me and find such great inspiration for social change in art and entrepreneurship, then you may be interested in a new organization called "Birthright Earth".

Modeled after Taglit-Birthright Israel, the organization sends curious young people between the ages of 18 to 26 on free 10-day trips to the Brazilian Amazon to learn more about the urgency of Amazon conservation. The project was started by two members of Wesleyan University in the classes of '09 and '08.

**Culture Pick - Amazon: If you're interested in learning more about the politics of Amazon development, I highly recommend the 2007 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury & Cinematography Award Winning Documentary, "Manda Bala (Send A Bullet)".**
